According to an army of inspectors, who have been visiting hundreds of businesses across Cambridgeshire, people are making early attempts to adhere to the smoking ban. Enforcement officers have the power to issue £50 on-the-spot fines to anyone caught smoking illegally, but no official action has been taken in Cambridgeshire since the ban was introduced on July 1.
