Lung Association gives Ohio low marks in its stop-smoking efforts.
An anti-smoking group says Ohio is failing to provide adequate funding for cessation programs, and lawmakers need to do more to increase tobacco prevention and control. “Last year, lawmakers drastically cut funding for tobacco prevention and control, leading to the loss of many nationally recognized, science-base programs to help smokers quit ... and programs also to help our kids not start,” said Shelly Kiser, director of advocacy for the American Lung Association of Ohio.
